ATHAR LANDMARK
The design approach focused on establishing an experience of being embraced by introducing intimate spatial configurations and resembling fragments of the struggle, the achievements, and the roles of Bahraini women in society.
The history of Bahraini women is full of success and hardship since women used to lead and manage the community in the absence of men during the fishing and pearl diving seasons and were standing in strength while the sea swallowed their loved ones one after the other, they helped their families in heavy agricultural activities, and they continue to rise and achieve in various disciplines.
The landmark celebrates the achievements of Bahraini women from various professions as an engaging monument and a space for public events regarding the successful impact of women in society.
